Until 2022, Peru has exported 3.5 tons of dragon fruit for $15,000 and 46 tons of lantern fruit for $326,000. These products were mainly shipped to Europe. However, the possibility of exporting dragon fruit and lantern fruit from Peru to the United States seems closer after Josue Carrasco, director general of phytosanitary at the National Agricultural Health Service (Senasa), confirmed that Senasa has reached an agreement with the U.S. Animal and Plant Administration (APHIS) to exempt both fruits from mandatory quarantine treatment starting in the third quarter of next year, after certifying that they do not transmit fruit flies.

Following the shipment of blueberry machines ordered by Peruvian customers, the latest dragon fruit processing machine developed by our team has also been well received by Peruvian customers. This FstSort pitaya processing line can process 23,000 dragon fruits per hour, and after washing and air-drying and grading, the color, size and weight of the dragon fruits can fully meet the market demand. Compared with manual sorting, the efficiency will be increased by 3 times, which will save more processing cost and bring you more benefits.
