According to the latest report of the 2021 season released by the Chilean Kiwifruit Committee, the production of Chilean kiwifruit has fallen this season. The report said: "Although the number of fruits on the market has decreased this season, the mild summer has made the soluble solids and dry matter content of the fruits high, ensuring a very good storage capacity and prolonging the supply period."

According to the IQonsulting report, Chilean kiwifruit exports to mainland China and Hong Kong have undergone significant changes in the past three years, from a historic 21355 tons in 2019 to 9,700 tons in 2020, and an estimated 7,500 tons this year. This is due to the ongoing transformation of the Chilean kiwi fruit industry, renewing the cultivation of orchards and focusing on improving the quality of supply.
