From February 5 to 7 this year, the Berlin fruit and vegetable exhibition attracted more than 72000 global traders. At the exhibition, the leading sensor sorting equipment manufacturers showed the upgraded belt sorter for the first time. The equipment can remove the smallest foreign objects and defects from fruits or vegetables according to preset sorting standards, ensuring food safety and reducing unnecessary processing losses. The grading equipment comes in a variety of sizes, with belt speeds of 2-5 meters per second, and is suitable for fruits, potatoes and fresh-cut vegetables. According to the company, the new device has unprecedented precision and control capabilities to support increased production and profitability.

As the product to be sorted moves along the conveyor belt, two sets of cameras and a laser sensor scan the product 360 degrees, detecting defects as small as 1 millimeter. Then the defective products are removed from the production line or further classified by using high-speed air fingers. According to reports, the upgraded system is equipped with a number of new functions, which can optimize and improve the sorting process according to customer needs and product categories of fruits and vegetables.
The sorting equipment product manager said, "the new sorting machine is easy to operate and greatly improves operational flexibility. In addition to ensuring food quality and safety, accurate sorting minimizes food waste, increasing productivity and profitability."
