New Zealand Envy apples are shipped to China and Southeast Asia

T&G Global announced that it will fully support its high-end Apple Envy (Envy) export plan. Five cargo ships carrying a total of 28,000 boxes (518 tons) have departed from Napier Port in New Zealand for the Chinese and Southeast Asian markets.

T&G Operations Director Craig Betty said that despite the severe labor shortage, tight shipping schedules, and global container shortages, the company will continue to work hard to supply high-quality Aifei apples to consumers around the world this year.

"Our orchard and post-harvest team will do their best to pick and pack Envy apples this season," he said. "College students have already joined our local production team and are working with workers holding seasonal employer (RSE) visas. In addition, 45 members of our office team have formed the "Envy Army" (Envy Army). The packaging plant in Hawke’s Bay works in shifts to ensure that our high-quality Aifei apples can reach the global market smoothly."

During the New Zealand export season, T&G will ship about 2 million boxes (about 200 million apples) of New Zealand-produced Envy apples to consumers in 60 countries.

As the global market's demand for high-quality varieties grows, the company is stepping up its planting expansion in the northern and southern hemispheres. This year, T&G and its partners will grow, package and sell 5.5 million cases of Envy apples globally. It is estimated that by 2030, the output of Envy apples will increase by another 10 million boxes.
