Forecasts from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) show promising prospects for Mexican avocado production in 2024, with production expected to be 2.77 million tonnes (MMT) as new orchards reach full production. This forecast represents a significant increase of 5% compared to the previous year.
Mexico’s growth in the global avocado market is clear, with the country playing an important role in meeting demand, particularly from the United States and other export destinations.
It’s avocado season again. The demand for machines to sort avocado fruit during this busy season is also growing.
In the Fstsort workshop, a 4-line avocado sorting line customized for Kenyan customers is being tested. The machine's intelligent system can easily calculate the weight of each avocado and quickly screen and grade the picked avocados into 9 standard grades.
The sorted avocados are automatically transported along their respective aisles to the workers. The workers smoothly place the graded avocados into fruit boxes for unified packaging.
The processing line can process 320,000 tons of avocados in one hour. The use of the equipment has further improved the efficiency of avocado sorting, and also allows consumers to taste better-grade avocados.
