In 2022, Mexico produced 3,101,099 tons of Tahiti lime, an increase of 5.0% over 2021. The leading states in production are Veracruz (27.7%), Michoacan (27.6%) and Colima (10.0%). Michoacan leads the ranking with 54,160 hectares of harvested area and a yield of 15.8 tons per hectare.

Mexico mainly supplies lemons to the United States, accounting for 92.6% of all U.S. lime imports in 2022, up from 97.5% in 2020. Meanwhile, Colombia's share increased from 1.8% in 2020 to 5.2% in 2022. Peru also contributed, but to a lesser extent. Countries such as Honduras and Guatemala send very little lemon.
