Avocado exports to China hit 9 billion shillings in the March-May period, with 7,000 tonnes shipped to Beijing during the period, as more Kenyan farms and packhouses moved into the lucrative Chinese market.

The number of exporters approved to enter the Chinese market jumped to 78 so far in January, including 58 farms and 20 packhouses, up from 25 last year.
