He said that Egypt's annual export volume of fresh pomegranates exceeds 100,000 tons, and this year's export volume has also increased significantly. China's import access to Egyptian pomegranates was announced after technical negotiations, long-term understanding of the country's agricultural conditions and other relevant export measures.

Al-Qarsh said that Egyptian pomegranate can gain access to the Chinese market because it is very competitive, especially the Manfaluti pomegranate from Assiut Province, Egypt’s largest pomegranate producer, with very high quality.

Up to now, relevant Chinese authorities have not released any information on the access of Egyptian pomegranates. Among Egyptian fruits, there are currently citrus, grapes and dates that have obtained China's inspection and quarantine access qualifications.
