According to chinanews.com, khalilov, chief expert of the Export Department of the state plant product quarantine bureau of Uzbekistan, said recently that China is one of the important and priority directions for the export of vegetables, fruits and agricultural products of Uzbekistan. At present, Uzbekistan has about 500 companies engaged in exporting to China, and Uzbekistan said it would continue to develop the Chinese market.

Uzbekistan is the largest fruit and vegetable producer in Central Asia, exporting to about 60 countries and regions, but the export volume is limited, and the main export destination is Russia. Since 2017, Uzbekistan has begun to develop agricultural exports to China. At present, Uzbekistan exports 14 kinds of fruits and vegetables and agricultural products such as cherry, melon, grape seed and peanut to China. According to the statistics of the Ministry of agriculture of Ukraine, in 2019, Uzbekistan will export 55000 tons of agricultural products to China, with an export value of about US $48 million; in 2020, the export volume will increase to 92000 tons, with an export value of US $71.5 million.
Due to the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic, the export of Uzbekistan's individual commodities to China has declined. Now Uzbekistan has become the fourth largest cherry producer in the world. In 2019, Uzbekistan will export about 550 tons of cherries to China, and in 2020, the number will drop to 147 tons. But on the whole, the export of Uzbekistan's agricultural products to China is still on the rise.
Khalilov said that at present, Ukraine is conducting relevant negotiations with China on expanding exports. Grapes, plums, peaches and persimmons from Uzbekistan are expected to meet Chinese consumers in 2023.
