Spain's sweet corn harvest commenced in late May, coinciding with the rise in consumption of this product across Europe.

The corn season in Spain began roughly as planned at the end of May. Although March rains disrupted sowing schedules and made timely planting impossible for several weeks, the technical team has implemented all possible measures to bridge the supply gap. Their efforts have minimized the impact on sales during these critical consumption weeks. In terms of quality, the harvest has yielded excellent results, with very little produce rejected on the packing line.
The harvests in Morocco and Senegal have now concluded, and "quality has been quite good." Notably, these harvests lasted slightly longer than in previous years. "However, during the production seasons in these countries, our market presence remains limited due to high costs and low demand in the winter months."
"Sweet corn is not only delivering strong sales returns but also contributing significantly at an agronomic level," says José Carlos. "By enriching the soil, it benefits subsequent crops, making it a valuable component of our agricultural strategy."
FstSort is currently advancing the development of a new corn production and processing line. Stay tuned for upcoming product innovations!
