No link between potato consumption and increased risk of heart disease

A new study by Dr. Lynn L. Moore refutes the notion that eating potatoes - or even French fries - is associated with a higher risk of heart disease. The study concludes that general diet and lifestyle play a greater role than any food in controlling the risk of diseases such as type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

Potatoesusa.com reports that Dr. Moore, a professor at the Chobanian & Avedisian Medical School at Boston University in Massachusetts, used one of the world's oldest and best-known databases on lifestyle and disease risk (the Framingham Offspring data) to support his findings.
