The first exports of South African pears to China were launched in mid-August and 12 batches, amounting to nearly 400 tonnes, have already been shipped, with the pace of South Africa's premium fruit entering the Chinese market accelerating. South Africa produces a number of pear varieties, with Packham's Triumph being the most productive, followed by Forelle.

Machine sorting

In the past, most of the pear sorting using manual selection, sub specification packaging, but manual selection has certain disadvantages, long time easy eye fatigue, it is difficult to ensure the accuracy of the pear sorting, and time-consuming and laborious, not high efficiency, the cost is also high.

To further improve the efficiency of South Africa pear sorting, FstSort is producing a multi-lane sorting line.

Operating procedures

The user has to adjust the fruit sorter weights in grams and set the sorting level in advance according to the pear sorting needs. After the machine is switched on, the user can pour the pears and other fruits into the loading trough, the pears are lifted to the conveying running track with the machine, the fruit tray moves to the sorting area for automatic weighing and sorting, after which the fruit is rolled into the corresponding area according to the specifications, the fruit is dropped into the lower trough and finally boxed and bagged by hand.

High speed grading capability: The grading mechanism is capable of high speed grading according to the grading instructions made by the online computer. The grading controller is modular and can easily reduce or extend the grading level according to the user's grading requirements, with an optional number of outlets.

Multi-channel setting: 2, 4, 6 and 8 channels are available.

Automatic quantity counting: the computer automatically records the number of fruits per grade and export for user-friendly statistics.

Apart from pears, this sorter can also be used for other fruits, such as persimmons, mangoes, avocados, release fruits and peach.
