China Blueberry Industry Report

As of the end of 2020, China's blueberry area has reached 66,400 hectares, with a total output of 347,200 tons and a fresh fruit output of 234,700 tons.

According to media reports, the Journal of Jilin Agricultural University recently published the "2020 China Blueberry Industry Annual Report". According to the blueberry industry survey data of various producing areas in China, it summarized the current status of the area and production of open-field and protected blueberry cultivation in China in 2020. The price trend of fresh fruits also analyzed the new characteristics of the development of China's blueberry industry.

 

The report pointed out that the commercial cultivation of blueberries in China began in 2000. As of the end of 2020, the area has reached 66,400 hectares, with a total output of 347,200 tons and a fresh fruit output of 234,700 tons.

 

According to the report, by the end of 2020, the cultivated area of solar greenhouses nationwide will be 2010 hectares and the output will be 15,185 tons. Among them, Liaoning Province ranked first, with cultivation area and yield accounting for 63.0% and 56.6% of the country, respectively; Shandong Province ranked second, with area and yield accounting for 27.0% and 32.0% of the country, respectively.

 

The national cold greenhouse cultivation area is 705 hectares, and the output is 7510 tons. Shandong Province ranks first in the country, with output and area accounting for 71.0% and 66.6% of the country, respectively, while Liaoning Province ranks second, with area and output accounting for 17.7% and 20.0% of the country, respectively.

 

The report analyzed the annual price trend of domestic blueberries, showing that the price was high in the early period and gradually decreased in the later period. It was at a high price stage from early March to early April, at a higher price stage from early April to mid-May, and at a lower price stage after late May, reaching the bottom in July.
